Our compensation policy and terms of service.

This section outlines the compensation policy of Turigye Tours and Travels Ltd. It defines the terms under which clients may receive refunds, compensation, or alternative arrangements in the event of cancellations, service disruptions, or unforeseen circumstances affecting their safari experience. By booking a safari with Turigye Tours and Travels Ltd, the client agrees to abide by these terms and conditions.

2.1 Client-Initiated Cancellations

In the event that a client cancels their safari booking, the following refund policy shall apply:

  • Gorilla and chimpanzee trekking permits are non-refundable once purchased, as per Uganda Wildlife Authority regulations.
  • Refunds will be processed within 14 business days from the date of cancellation.
2.2 Company-Initiated Cancellations

Turigye Safaris Ltd reserves the right to cancel a safari due to unavoidable circumstances, including but not limited to:

  • Extreme weather conditions
  • Political instability
  • Park closures or government restrictions
  • Natural disasters

In such cases, clients will be offered:

  • A full refund, excluding non-refundable permits.
  • Rescheduling at no extra cost, subject to availability.

If the cancellation is due to force majeure (e.g., pandemics, war, or acts of God), compensation will be subject to third-party supplier policies.

3.1 Delayed or Altered Itineraries

Turigye Tours and Travels Ltd reserves the right to modify itineraries due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases:

  • Clients will be notified in advance, and an alternative itinerary of equal value will be arranged.
  • If the modification results in a significant inconvenience, clients may receive partial compensation or an upgraded activity.

No compensation shall be offered for changes caused by factors beyond the company’s control, including weather conditions, road closures, park authority decisions, or delays due to third-party service providers.

3.2 Accommodation Changes
  • If the reserved accommodation is unavailable, a similar or upgraded alternative will be provided at no extra cost.
  • No compensation shall be granted for changes due to overbooking by lodges, natural disasters, or government policies.
3.3 Missed Activities
  • If an activity (e.g., game drive, boat safari) is canceled due to circumstances beyond the company’s control, we will endeavor to reschedule or offer an equivalent alternative.
  • If rescheduling is not possible, clients may be eligible for a refund of the specific activity cost, excluding permit fees.

  • Any complaints regarding services must be reported immediately to the assigned tour guide or company representative.
  • Compensation claims must be submitted in writing within seven (7) days of the safari’s completion.
  • Turigye Tours and Travels Ltd will review all claims and provide a resolution within fourteen (14) business days.

Turigye Tours and Travels Ltd shall not be held liable for:

  • Personal injury, illness, loss of property, or additional costs incurred during the safari.
  • Incidents arising from client negligence, failure to follow guide instructions, or failure to adhere to park regulations.
  • Unforeseen disruptions caused by third parties, including airlines, lodges, and park authorities.

Clients are strongly advised to obtain comprehensive travel insurance, covering:

  • Medical emergencies
  • Trip cancellations
  • Loss of personal belongings

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Uganda. Any disputes arising from this agreement shall be resolved through mediation in Uganda, with litigation as a last resort.

By booking a safari with Turigye Safaris Ltd, the client acknowledges and agrees to the terms and conditions outlined in this document.
